“Since 2016, HathiTrust has coordinated collective action to build and preserve an independent collection of U.S. Federal Documents available for public access. We have since developed the largest independent collection of digitized and preserved U.S. Federal Documents. Our vision to expand and enhance digital access to government publications from across dozens of U.S. agencies bolsters both democracy and scholarship. More than 40 of our contributing member libraries are members of the Federal Depository Library Program and through their efforts, HathiTrust is able to preserve the digitized collection of 1.3+ million items in an independently managed repository.”
