Die KU Leuwen zeigt unter dem Titel “Book Edges. Blanc, Inscribed, Gilded and Coloured : Exploring Book Edges in the KU Leuven Libraries and other Belgian Collections” eine virtuelle Ausstellung zu Buchkanten (via Archivalia):
“Very early in Western book production, decoration and information was applied to the edges of books. Through history the appearance and decoration of this part of the book changed together with shelf in the library. In this presentation, examples of the evolution of the shape and colour of book edges are documented with examples from Maurits Sabbe Library and other Leuven and Belgian collections.”
